I have now been there 3 times. once in Niagra Falls and twice in Traverse City. and I blogged about them once before. but this time, I was asked to come up with my family and a group of mommy bloggers to experience Snowland, their yearly winter celebration. I was so excited for my family to be able to experience a blogger event because usually companies only sponsor bloggers. Kuddos to Great Wolf for understanding that the whole family should be included in their event.
Experiencing Great Wolf Lodge during Snowland is even better than your normal Great Wolf experience. which is saying a lot because we love Great Wolf. In fact, we got to Traverse City several times a year and every time we pass my kids beg and beg to go. but during Snowland they take everything up a notch. We got to decorate cookies, sip hot chocolate, judge decorated Christmas trees, write letters to Santa and visit with Santa himself. The best thing, the part I kept missing but heard was awesome: it snows in the lobby. REAL SNOW!! and besides all of that the place is just decorated to the hilt. it is absolutely beautiful.
Oh and they have this little thing called a waterpark:
Um yeah. that is 1000 gallons of water dumping every 5 minutes. and my little 6 year old braved standing under it. My hubby did not. and I was holding the baby, that wouldn’t be right!! The kids squealed on the waterslides, splashed in the splash pads and relaxed on the lazy river. even Silas took a few turns around the lazy river. We had a blast. What I love the most is that there are waterslides and activities for every age here so no one feels left out.
And that is just the waterpark. We also had the blast at the arcade earning tickets to buy junkie trinkets. actually it’s heavenly. like Chuck E Cheese without the insane noise and adults hogging the games. We stayed in a great suite with a little den for the kids complete with bunk bed. In fact, my kids asked Santa for bunk beds for Christmas. they also have a spa, nightly storytime, craft center and the infamous MagiQuest.
We truly had a blast. The staff was so wonderful and accommodating and the food was wonderful. I think for everything you get, Great Wolf Lodge is really an affordable family vacation. you get full use of the waterpark and facilities the day your check in and out. Kids under two stay and use the waterpark for free. In fact, if anything, there just wasn’t enough time to experience all Great Wolf has to offer. I would highly recommend this to anyone who lives near one as a great, affordable family destination. Check out their website for locations.
Disclosure: Great Wolf Lodge provided lodging for our family at this event, but no other payment or compensation was received for this post. as usual the opinions expressed are all mine.
